LE ROUX HEADS BACK TO THE COAST
After a brief delay, round four of the Investchem Formula 1600 championship will be taking place at the East London Grand Prix circuit on Saturday 28 August 2021. It will be Josh Le Roux’s first outing in East London, but he is feeling enthusiastic to get back on track and optimistic of a good set of results.
As picturesque as the East London Grand Prix Circuit is, it should not be underestimated. The long straight heading into Potters Pass has caught many a driver out and a mistake could see the race ending in the bushes. The circuit also boasts a tight and twisty series of corners, which will put Josh’s karting knowledge to good use.
Josh has had an impressive first season in main circuit racing and he has been able to achieve three podium finishes from the six races so far this year. A credible feat in his debut season, where every circuit is a new experience.
The young karter is currently fourth in the championship points, with only one point standing between him and third place.
“I am loving every minute in my single-seater and am determined to go all out for a podium finish in East London. I have a great team behind me and an incredible amount of support from my family, for which I am exceptionally grateful,” expressed Josh.
Although spectators are not yet permitted to attend race events, racing will be streamed live on the Extreme Festival Facebook page and YouTube channel.
