JOSH LE ROUX VS CAPE TOWN

It is time for the sixth and penultimate round of the 2022 Investchem Formula 1600 Championship and Josh le Roux knows its crunch time for his championship hopes. The championship leader has yet to take a double victory this year, but if ever there was a time to pull a hat-trick (pole position and two race wins) out of the bag, it will be at Killarney this weekend (17 September 2022).

Josh has taken four race wins and a total of six podium finishes this season and has a five point lead in the championship. With 44 points still up for grabs this season, Josh will be focused on increasing his point’s margin.

“The championship is definitely weighing on my mind, I know that the time for mistakes has passed and if I want to take this title (and I definitely do), I will need to put in a near flawless performance this weekend. I know I have a great team behind me and I have the most incredible support from my family and friends, so just need to keep my head in the game and go out and do my best,” explained Josh.

The last time Josh raced in Cape Town, he walked away with a fifth in race one and his first ever race win in heat two. This will give him confidence going into the weekend.

Anyone who has met Josh knows that he is very humble and fun loving. If anyone can handle the pressure, it is him.
