A NEW ERA FOR JOSH LE ROUX
Josh le Roux will kick off the 2023 motorsport season with a major move from single seaters to tin-tops. As the 2022 Investchem Formula 1600 champion, Josh earned his place in the, championship winning, Chemical Logistics GTC team. Not only will Josh race as part of one of the best teams in the country, but he will be racing in what is considered the pinnacle of saloon car racing in South Africa.
The first race of the season will take place at the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix circuit in Midrand this weekend (24 and 25 February) and will run as part of the prestigious Kyalami 9-hour event.
Not only will it be Josh’s debut saloon car race and his first race behind the wheel of the Investchem Audi S3, but it will also be his first race at the 4.5km Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
Although it may seem like a daunting weekend of firsts, Josh is feeling confident as he takes this next step in his racing career.
“I am exceptionally excited for the week ahead and am ready to learn as much as I can from my teammates. The enormity of the occasion is not lost on me and I am truly humbled not only by this opportunity, but also by the incredible amount of support that I have received from so many amazing people on my motorsport journey so far,” expressed Josh.
As part of the Kyalami 9-hour, the race schedule is slightly different for this event, with qualifying (08h55) and the first race (13h45) both taking place on Friday. Race two will take place at 10h40 on Saturday morning.
