WORK TO DO FOR JOSH LE ROUX

Josh le Roux has had a fantastic debut season in the Investchem Formula 1600 National Championship, but he has some work to do at Red Star Raceway this weekend (25 September 2021), if he wants to finish the year in a podium position.

Unfortunately, a damaged radiator meant that Josh did not score any points at the last round of the championship, held at the East London Grand Prix Circuit in August. This was to the detriment of his championship charge and has dropped the young karter down to fourth in the points table. Josh now needs to make up a seven-point deficit to get himself back into the number three spot.

Whilst the championship points will be weighing on his mind, Josh is also chasing his first ever main circuit victory.

“I am very happy with my pace and am ecstatic to have already taken three podium finishes this season, but my heart is chasing a race win! The competition is very tough, but I will be giving it my all,” expressed Josh.

Josh has put in a fair amount of testing at Red Star Raceway and if his previous results are anything to go by, he will definitely be challenging at the front of the pack.

Although spectators are not permitted, the race will be streamed on the Extreme Festival Facebook page and Youtube channel.
