ANOTHER WEEKEND OF RACING FOR LE ROUX
The third round of the 2021 Investchem Formula 1600 Championship will be taking place in Gqeberha this weekend (29 May) and Josh le Roux is eager to get back on track.
Since the last race, Josh has been keeping exceptionally busy, testing in his single-seater and competing in a karting National. Josh was a last minute entry in KZ2, two weeks ago and whilst he relished the opportunity to compete, the weekend didn’t really go his way, after he got caught up in a big accident in the second heat. Whilst any sportsman competes to win, Josh’s primary focus is on main circuit and karting is a means to keep his race craft sharp and maintain his fitness levels.
Following his fantastic results at Zwartkops, Josh is now third in the Investchem Formula 1600 Championship point’s standings and is just one point behind Jarrod Waberski.
Although Josh was fortunate enough to get some testing time, this will be his first race at Aldo Scribante.
“Every circuit we go to is a learning curve, but I am lucky to have an experienced team behind me and fellow competitors who are willing to offer advice and guidance. My confidence levels are at an all-time high and I am enjoying every minute of the 2021 season,” expressed Josh.
Whilst spectators are not yet permitted under Covid-19 restrictions, the race will be streamed live on the Extreme Festival YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
