IT’S ROUND TWO FOR JOSH LE ROUX

The second round of the 2022 Investchem Formula 1600 Championship will be taking place at Zwartkops Raceway this weekend and Josh le Roux has his sights set on the top step of the podium.

Josh is currently third in the point standings after taking his first race win in the category, at the first round of the championship in Cape Town in March.

“It is still early in the championship, but every point counts. I am feeling good about my prospects at Zwartkops, especially after the race win at Killarney. I am fortunate to be able to test at Zwartkops fairly regularly and I achieved some great results last year. I am hoping to keep this momentum going,” commented Josh.

The Sparco ambassador will also be using the race event as some extra seat time before making the trip to the UK next month to race in the British National Formula Ford Championship.

“I am very excited about racing in the UK. The South Africans who have raced overseas have proven to be very strong contenders and I intend to carry the South African flag with pride,” he concluded.

If the Cape Town leg of the championship is anything to go by, this weekend’s racing is going to be action packed. The race will be live streamed on the Extreme Festival Facebook page and YouTube channel. For the first time in a long time, spectator will be allowed to attend the event.
